Six public universities, an insurance platform and the football federation
are named in a series of claims posted on underground forums. Together they would amount to
more than 7,761,608 university records alone. Not one of these
organisations has confirmed anything — and the outlet that documented the wave says
so itself.

A university record ties a full name to a national identifier, a date of birth, a
faculty, a year of study and a personal phone number — the exact combination that makes a
call sound informed. Fraud that follows an education leak rarely mentions the university at
all: it uses what the file proves the caller knows.
