The mechanic, in three steps
No complicated affiliate dashboard — referrals live right inside the app, under the Protection tab.
- You share your link from the app — text, WhatsApp, email, whatever channel you already use with that person.
- They install Egidio through it. They start with 7 unlocked days of Premium, on top of the standard trial.
- You get 7 days too, automatically, the moment the install is confirmed — nothing else to do.
Who this is actually for
Your parents, a sibling, a friend who just forwarded you a suspicious text — those are the natural recipients of a referral. See the math between price and loss for why it matters.
Zero account, zero data — how it's actually possible
The question comes up a lot: how can a referral program work without ever asking for a phone number, an email, or an account? The answer comes down to one technical difference.
Most other apps
Egidio
Your referral code is an opaque identifier — a string generated on your phone that contains and reveals nothing about you. When someone uses it, the server only increments an anonymous counter: "this code was used once more." No name, no phone number, no advertising ID travels anywhere. You'll never know exactly who used your code — and neither will Egidio. Same doctrine as the rest of the engine: nothing to collect, nothing to lose.
What about the Family plan?
The Family plan already covers 4 people under one subscription. Referrals take over from there: a fifth person, outside the household, who deserves protection too — and every Family plan member can refer, not just the one who pays.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Egidio referral program work?
You share a link or code from inside the app. Whoever installs Egidio through it gets 7 free days of Premium, and you get 7 more days once their install is confirmed.
How much time can I earn by referring people?
Up to 90 cumulative days a year — an honest cap, stated so the mechanic stays a thank-you, not a system to game.
Do I need an account to refer someone?
No. Your code is generated on your device and tied to no identity.
Will I find out who used my code?
No, by design. The server only receives an anonymous counter, never an identity.
Can a Circle member refer people too?
Yes — every Family plan member, paying or not, can refer someone outside the household.
